Kathy Barnes has worked in various areas of the insurance industry for the past 35 years, specializing in personal insurance. She has significant knowledge and experience working with clients to form insurance portfolios for their specific needs. Products making up these portfolios include Homeowner, Personal Auto, Personal Umbrella, Boat/Yacht, Valuable Articles, Flood and Excess Flood.

Prior to joining Ironwood, Kathy spent 22 years with J. Smith Lanier & Co. as a Personal Lines Account Manager, Claims Manager and Personal Lines Director. In 1988, she obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from the Professional Insurance Agents of America. She serves on the Agent Advisory Council of Chubb Insurance Group and was a Cornerstone Agent with Chubb while at J. Smith Lanier & Co. Kathy's experience also includes 10 years as a Personal Lines Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability Adjuster with State Farm Insurance Company.
